Christmas stocking idea
Sometimes were amazed at how creative you stitchers are. We recently received this picture from Joyce F. and we could not resist featuring the picture in this news section.
Joyce purchased Sylvie Teytaud's design featuring elves decorating a Christmas tree. Here's what Joyce says about her project: "I adapted Sylvie's wonderful design to a needlepoint stocking for my granddaughter. Never have done beading before, which was a challenge! Thank you so much for these darling elves!"
Congratulations Joyce, you did a fantastic job adapting the pattern to the size of the stocking. And the beaded garlands add just a little extra glamour to the stocking, making it look real precious.
If you too have stitched one of our designs and found an interesting way of adapting or finishing your piece, don't hesitate to send us a picture and will share it. It's sure to inspire many other stitchers! |

Barbara Ana's latest designs now online!
To start with is Stitchingly ever after, an ode to Barbara Ana's love affair with stitching. It's full of exquisite detail such as the stitched piece on the hoop and the threaded needle. And of course it's designed to be personalized by each stitcher.
Christmas Joy is a low key but gorgeous arrangement of Christmas mini motifs. It's a delight to stitch one item at a time in your countdown to Christmas.
Finally, here is Barbara Ana's largest piece ever, a designed in the manner of late 18th century samplers but with Barbara Ana's own choice of motifs and colors and of course a very interesting quote. There is so much detail the best is to have a closer look.

Christmas comes in many shapes with Perrette Samouiloff
Have you ever mounted your stitched pieces accordion style? It's a great way of displaying your mini motifs because they stand up on their own and look great on a mantlepiece. Perrette Samouiloff's Red card-size motifs are just perfect for that. You can also vary and mount them in twos or threes using the same principle.
More Christmas Ornaments is a complement to the popular 8 Christmas ornament motifs. It comes with a free tutorial for mounting the ornaments and making the sleek ribbon tassel. The tuturial can also be downloaded from our free tutorials page.
Last but not least is a Christmas banner, scandinavian style. We just love the reindeer blanket and the children's knitted sweaters!

The wind was a nor'wester, blowing squally off the sea
As in Stevenson's poem, the little ship is battling strong winds and hurling waves. This is a little gem of a needlework project, and it's perfect on a biscornu shape that gives extra dimension to the waves. A new cross stitch design by Faby Reilly.

Grow you own vegetable patch
We were delighted to receive this new pattern by Perrette Samouiloff because it triggered so many project ideas. Each little motif is easy to place according to your own constraints, depending what you want to stitch. You can make a recipe book cover, or space out the motif on a shopping bag (great for the farmer's market!). If you've got little ones around, you can stitch different baby bibs and place mats (they will all fight for the carrots!). Or you could stitch it as it is, beautiful in any case.
