Every tiny motif of this Christmas landscape is a delight to stitch. Just in time for the holiday season, a new pattern by Chouett'alors including of course her favorite animal: the little owl!

Patterns galore for Christmas needlework projects
Check out Perrette Samouiloff's latest pattern booklet: It features a combination of seven motifs that can be used for making needlework accessories in a variety of shapes such as scissor cases, scissor fobs and pincushions. Unlike most biscornu patterns where the pattern is repeated in the four corners, three of these patterns are designed to work along the diagonal of the square, so they can be used for making any cone-shaped objects such as scissor cases but also Christmas ornaments (see next topic below).

Try these cone-shaped hanging ornaments that can be filled with little surprises and hung on your tree. They work pretty much the same way as making a scissor case, except that you do not fold back the flap. These ornaments are really refined and pretty with a matching lining inside the cone - yet they are very easy to make, starting with a simple square, that is lined and then folded and slipstitched at the back. You'll have fun adding the jinglebells, pearl ornaments or tassels to the tapered end too. New shape idea: fill your Christmas ornaments with goodies
Here comes the perfect companion to Rudolf the reindeer!
There are now a total a four lovely Christmas ornaments in Faby Reilly's pendant collection. The ornaments have three sides and are stitched all on one piece of fabric, then assembled and given shape using the whipstitch (biscornu) method. Detailed instructions are included with the free tutorial.
There are also some cute Christmas cards now available in the "Petite Faby" collection. Ideal for a mother (or grand mother) / daughter project and spending quality time together.

Great finishing ideas: Miniature shaker needlebook
Thanks so much to Patricia F. for sharing this picture. She has done an amazing job of stitching two of Barbara Ana's shaker patterns, over one thread, on navy Blue Zweigart Lugana evenweave. The stitched piece was then mounted into a needlebook that measures only 2 1/8 inch x 3 3/8 inch. Extra pages were added inside the book for storing needles. This is an extraordinary piece!

Welcome to Gail Bussi and Rosebud Lane designs
We are delighted to welcome a new designer some of  you may well know as she has already published in numerous magazines as well as several books. Gail Bussi is now launching a new collection of patterns under the "Rosebud Lane" signature, that will be published through Creative Poppy's website. Gail Bussi is a very talented designer with years of experience with color as you will see from her exquisite and rich palettes. Her patterns are intricate with a lot of attention to detail which make them very rewarding to stitch.

Here's the latest pattern by Barbara Ana, a real cutie of a scissor fob with a fun Halloween theme. We just love the little black and purple laced boots! It matches the Owl-o-ween scissor fob that came out not long ago and the bootscornu (makes a handy pincushion). New flower patterns by Faby Reilly
She has done it again! Designer Faby Reilly shows a huge talent in depicting even the simplest, most humble flower. We love the warm yellow tones of the buttercup petals, enriched with tiny gold beads. And what about the more exotic lotus flower with its warm pink (almost a touch of orange there) cup-like petals? Last but not least, the popular Plum design is now available as a bookmark. These are all great projects and gift ideas to choose from.
