February 19th 2008
Dear stitchers,
It's been so sunny and warm here that we couldn't help feeling spring was there already. Our designers must have felt the same. You'll see that this week's newsletter certainly has a springtime feel to it. Hope you enjoy it!
Happy stitching,
The Creative Poppy team

Spring bunnies
Little rabbits are hoping around Creative Poppy's website this week. Will you resist their joyful influence?
Barbara Ana was particularly inspired with both a new Spring biscornu added to her collection of seasonal biscornus and a pretty Welcome spring pattern.

Tousled Sue is yet another of our little visitors. She has such a sweet expression in her face we really can't resist her. Can you? The design is by Helga Mandl, a very creative designer that we are proud to have on board.

Why not celebrate the arrival of spring with a seasonal cushion that will look great welcoming visitors on a seat in the hall. Brodi Broda has designed Welcome spring!, a very cute pattern featuring not one, but three rabbits! If you like it, you might want to stitch the other seasonal cushions and rotate them with the seasons. They make great gifts too!

Pretty Daisies
With spring in the air, we couldn't resist featuring this very cute pattern on Creative Poppy's home page. The pattern, Pretty daisies is by Marie-Noëlle Bayard, an expert of hand embroidery design.

No, it isn't cross stitch but yes, it's very easy even if you haven't yet tried any embroidery stitches. If you can make a French knot, then you will quickly master the two other stitches:
Lazy daisy is real fun to do, forming little flower petals.
Stem stitch is the most effective way of forming a line with a 3-D effect, hence it's name. It's real easy too!

Cows just wanna have fun!
Many of our designers want to have a little fun when designing cross stitch patterns - and it seems stitchers love it too! Catherine Deyts, the designer of Chouette'alors is no exception. Her series of little cows (and a menacing bull) are delightful. Don't miss her last two releases!
